It can be challenging to pick the finest iPhone for you. You must first decide if you want to wait for Apple’s iPhone 14, which is also slated to be introduced this fall, or get an iPhone 13, iPhone 12, or iPhone SE 3 right now. The iPhone 13, 13 Mini, 13 Pro, and 13 Pro Max are the four variants to choose from if you’ve limited it down to the iPhone 13. Not to mention, each model is available in a variety of colors and storage possibilities. Finding the right iPhone 13 fit can be difficult with so many options, but we’re here to assist.

With Apple’s iOS 16, your iPhone is expected to get a software update shortly. The next iPhone update is now in developer testing and will most likely be issued to the general public this fall. (You can get iOS 16 right now, but you definitely shouldn’t in most circumstances.) iOS 16 promises to enhance your iPhone with a plethora of new features. However, if you believe your iPhone need more than a software update, it may be time to consider replacing it.

Each of the four iPhone 13 models runs the most recent version of Apple’s iOS, which is now iOS 15.5, and is upgradable to iOS 16. They also have better cameras, greater storage, an A15 Bionic chipset, and certain design changes that set them distinct from the iPhone 12 in 2020.

From the price to the camera specifications, we’ll break down the differences between the four iPhone 13 variants. If you’d rather wait for the iPhone 14, we’ve compiled a list of all the speculations surrounding the device’s release date, pricing, and potential notchless design. Plus, if you already own an iPhone 13, we’ve compiled a list of the finest cases for it (many of them even MagSafe-compatible).

The cost of the iPhone 13 rises as the storage capacity increases, especially since the iPhone 13 is the first iPhone to offer a 1TB storage option. Only the Pro models get the extra capacity, which brings the price of an iPhone 13 Pro Max up to $1,599.

The following are the pricing for each iPhone 13 model in the United States:

13-SERIES IPHONE STORAGE IN THE UNITED STATES AND PRICES

128GB storage 256GB storage 512GB storage 1TB storage
iPhone 13 Mini $699 $799 $999 NA
iPhone 13 $799 $899 $1,099 NA
iPhone 13 Pro $999 $1,099 $1,299 $1,499
iPhone 13 Pro Max $1,099 $1,199 $1,399 $1,599

1TB storage is available on the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max

For the latest iPhone, Apple has dropped the 64GB storage option. The iPhone 13 and Mini have storage capacities of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB, respectively, while the Pro and Pro Max have a storage capacity of 1TB. This is the first time an iPhone has a storage capacity of 1TB.

All iPhone 13 models have a 20% narrower notch

The iPhone 13 is bigger and heavier than the iPhone 2020, although it has smaller notches on all four models. Since the 2017 iPhone X, Apple has introduced a notched display on every iPhone as a location for the selfie camera. The notch on the iPhone 13 is 20% less than on the iPhone 12.

For the iPhone 13 Mini, the camera arrangement was redesigned. Instead of being stacked one on top of the other like on the iPhone 12 Mini, the camera lenses are now placed diagonally across each other.

The screen sizes of the iPhone 13 lineup range from 5.4 inches to 6.7 inches. The iPhone 13 Mini has a screen size of 5.4 inches, the conventional iPhone 13 and Pro models have a screen size of 6.1 inches, and the Pro Max has a screen size of 6.7 inches.

Only the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max have displays with 120Hz refresh rates

A 120Hz display is available on both the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max variants. The number of hertz (or frames per second) that a phone screen is rated for impacts how quickly and smoothly the screen feels as you browse through apps and online sites. The 120Hz display, however, is absent from the regular and Mini variants.

Since other high-end smartphones, such as the Samsung Galaxy S22 and OnePlus 9 Pro, already offer a 120Hz refresh rate, Apple appears to be joining the fray after the fact.

Every iPhone 13 model’s advancements for the camera

A few camera improvements are included in the iPhone 13 series, such as the inclusion of macro and movie mode. However, the iPhone’s lidar scanner is still only available on the Pro and Pro Max, much like the iPhone 12 range. This is the second generation of iPhones, and only the more expensive models come with a lidar scanner.

The scanner, which first appeared in the 2020 iPad Pro, aids in autofocus and low-light photography. Lidar may also be used to measure the heights of your pals at gatherings, which is sort of cool.

With 12-megapixel wide and ultrawide lenses, Apple’s iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini sport two upgraded cameras. Three 12-megapixel wide, ultrawide, and telephoto lenses are on the back of the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max’s three cameras. Additionally, night mode photos are now possible on all iPhones in Apple’s 2021 series. Apple also included a more advanced ProRes video format with the Pro models.

The iPhone 13 boasts a longer-lasting battery than previous models

According to Apple, the new iPhones have more battery life than the iPhone 12 series. According to Apple, the longer battery life is the consequence of a combination of the A15 Bionic chip, iOS 15, and a larger battery.

It claims that the iPhone 13 and iPhone Mini can each play videos for 17 and 19 hours, respectively. The iPhone Pro Max is expected to last 28 hours, compared to 22 hours for the iPhone 13 Pro.

Apple withholds the precise battery specifications for its iPhones, but an iFixit breakdown reveals much larger cells than in models from 2020. Notably, the iPhone 13 Pro’s battery is smaller than the iPhone 13’s, maybe as a result of the Pro’s screen using less power.
